Day 9 Clovelly to Hartland Quay

I really enjoyed today's walk, probably a bit to do with the fact it was only 10.5 miles, but it was also interesting scenery with a fair few up and downs without being too hard going.

On leaving Clovelly early it was great to be out walking at that time and the path was brilliant down to the sea with some old stone buildings and the crashing waves, really exciting After the mellowness of the sea before.

Path was pretty easy going after the few initial climbs all the way to Hartland Point. This marks a significant point in the walk (to quote the guide book) & the landscape was much more dramatic with jagged rocks and loud seas. For the first time I was seriously worried about Rudy going over the sheer edges, but she seemed o.k.

After a few valleys and rivers to cross I made it to Hartland Quay early afternoon.

The campsite is amazing, all the facilities are in old farm buildings & the little shop inside was awesome. My tea consisted of quavers, chocolate cake & a fruit pot!

I met a lady called Jenny last night in the pub & she's staying at the campsite too so its been really nice to chat & hang out as it would be pretty remote otherwise. We're going to set off early tomorrow for what is apparently one of the hardest days of the whole path....
